this is terrific … this is terrific thankyou! hoops on line are outrageously expensive, this is a great alternative. i’m headed to the hardware store right after i return the too heavy, overpriced hoop i just bought at the fitness store!
will have to make a few for my nieces with the left over materials!
It sells by the … It sells by the foot, and is usually sold in rolls of 100 ft at the major home improvement stores in the plumbing/irrigation iles. The rolls of 100 ft usually cost about 30$, but it depends on the store, PSI of the tubing, etc. I would definitlly reccommend going to a local plumbing and/or hardware store near yu!
When you put the … When you put the hoop together (both ends are on the coupling) – Put the combined ends on the ground and step on the connection – Pull the hoop up lightly (as to not totally bend it) and it’ll round that side nicely. =) Now all my hoops are perfectly round instead of round with a flat spot! =)
thank you for your … thank you for your reply! someone gave me his homemade hoop. it is thick and he “overfilled” it with water lol. it is hard to do some of the tricks because of that, but it sure creates a workout! when I make MY own hoop I’ll see if adding no filler at all makes a huge difference. thanks!
Be sure u’r not … Be sure u’r not over heating tubing and your total hoop circumference is large enough, so as not to stress/bend the tubing. If its only slightly egg-shaped/oblong, once you hoop with it a while it may even out.
I don’t add any ” … I don’t add any “Fillers”. They often throw the wait off and make trick execution strange and/or difficult. Beads/sand are noisy. Water can leak and be messy. If your looking for just exercise, I recommend a 1″ tubing, larger total hoop circumference, or higher PSI to add more weight.
i was about to ask … i was about to ask the same thing! are fillers (like water or sand) more for the “excercise” part of hooping then? I would think the weight of the filler helps the rotation…
PSI = pounds per … PSI = pounds per square inch
Its basically how flexy or hard your tubing will be.
All my hoops are 100 PSI because I find it to be very nice for collapsible hoops (the twisting kind)
Ask for irrigation … Ask for irrigation tubing ~100-160 PSI. 3/4″ is good, but 1″ inch works well too. Some states/counties don’t sell tubing bigger than 1/2 for drought reasons, I think. So you may have to order it online. Good luck!
